The Response of Pharaoh
The Egyptian magicians again attempt to imitate the sign by turning water into blood.
Because of this, Pharaoh’s heart remains hardened, and he refuses to release the Israelites.
Instead of responding to the disaster, Pharaoh returns to his palace, ignoring the suffering of his people.
Meanwhile, the Egyptians begin digging along the Nile to find drinkable water, since the river has been contaminated.
The plague continues for seven days.
